NFL Week 1 Lines and Odds for SI Sportbook’s Perfect 10 Contest

Analyzing the Week 1 lines for SI Sportsbook’s Perfect 10 contest.

The 2022 NFL season kicks off Thursday night when the defending Super Bowl champion Rams host  Josh Allen and the Bills.

At SI Sportsbook, bettors this season can take part in a free “Perfect 10” contest. The weekly game requires bettors to make 10 selections against the spread (ATS) for a chance at a $10,000 prize. Every bettor who picks at least six games correctly will be awarded consolation prizes in the form of free bets.

Bettors find seven Week 1 games listed with point spreads of three points or less. Just how much are oddsmakers valuing home field in Week 1? It appears not much, as 10 of the 16 games (63%) in the opening week find road teams favored.

The three biggest favorites on the board—the Colts (-8), Ravens (-7) and 49ers (-7)—all will be playing in hostile road environments. Only three home favorites—the Bengals (-6.5), Chargers (-3.5) and Titans (-6.5)—demand more than a field goal spread. Let’s take a quick look at every game on the board!

Baker Mayfield will face his former team in his first game as the Panthers’ starting quarterback. These are two teams of futility from a betting perspective as the Browns are a paltry 6-15-1 ATS (29%) in their last 22 season openers, while Carolina is a disappointing 2-12 ATS (14%) in its last 14 games.

The Bengals begin their quest to make back-to-back Super Bowl appearances with one of the NFL’s best offenses. It appears Pittsburgh will begin the post-Ben Roethlisberger era with Mitchell Trubisky. The Bengals, who are both 3-0 straight-up (SU) and ATS in the last three meetings, were a perfect 8-0 ATS over their final eight games last season (including playoffs and Super Bowl).

The Saints welcome back Michael Thomas to a passing attack that now includes veteran Jarvis Landry and rookie Chris Olave. The Falcons are projected as the favorite to earn the 2023 No.1 overall pick in the NFL Draft after losing wideout Calvin Ridley for the season (suspension). New Orleans was one of the best road ATS teams last year, boasting a 6-3 ATS mark. The Saints are 4-1 both straight-up (SU) and ATS in their last five meetings with Atlanta.

Godofredo A. Vásquez

49ers vs. Bears

Total: 41 – Over (-110) | Under (-110)
Game Info: Sept. 11, 2022 | 1 p.m. ET | Fox

The 49ers' offense should be more explosive with Trey Lance at the controls utilizing wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk more in the passing game. The Bears are hoping quarterback Justin Fields can improve in his sophomore season. San Francisco is 4-0 ATS in its last four road games, while the Bears are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games.

The darlings of HBO’s Hard Knocks will host Jalen Hurts and the Eagles in the season opener. Philadelphia is poised to be one of the surprise teams in 2022. The Lions rewarded backers posting a 7-2 ATS record over their last nine games. The over is 8-0 in the last eight meetings between the teams dating back to 2007.

Game Info: Sept. 11, 2022 | 1 p.m. ET | CBS

The Ravens head on the road to face a Jets squad that could potentially start Joe Flacco at quarterback. Despite injury issues at the running back position, facing a New York squad without Zach Wilson will likely not be a difficult task. New York is 1-5 ATS in its last six openers, while the Ravens have been a lucrative investment under John Harbaugh with a 5-1 ATS mark in the last six Week 1 games.

Patriots vs. Dolphins

Moneyline: New England (+138) | Miami (-163)
Spread: NE +3 (-110) | MIA -3 (-110)
Total: 46.5 – Over (-110) | Under (-110)

The Dolphins are expecting big things from Tua Tagovailoa now that he has Tyreek Hill running routes alongside Jaylen Waddle. The Patriots, who lack any true game-changers on offense, could be headed for major regression this season. Miami is 4-1 both SU and ATS in the last five meetings with New England, while the Patriots are a paltry 2-8 ATS in their last 10 trips to South Beach.

Saquon Barkley has been the buzz of training camp and New York will need him to post monster production in his contract year. The Titans welcome back a healthy Derrick Henry, but will need to find a new go-to wide receiver after trading A.J. Brown to Philadelphia. Big Blue, who closed out last season 0-6 SU and ATS, will face a Titans club that is 3-0 SU and ATS in their last three home tilts at Nissan Stadium.

Chiefs vs. Cardinals

Moneyline: Kansas City (-200) | Arizona (+165)

Total: 53.5 – Over (-110) | Under (-110)

Patrick Mahomes will now be throwing touchdowns to JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling after losing Hill. The Cardinals' passing attack will depend on former Ravens wideout Marquise Brown as well as thrusting second-year talent Rondale Moore into a bigger role until DeAndre Hopkins returns from suspension. Arizona finished last season 1-5 ATS over its final six games, while the Chiefs head into 2022 on a 7-3 ATS streak over their last 10 games (including playoffs).

Game Info: Sept. 11, 2022 | 4:25 p.m. ET | Fox

Aaron Rodgers will be asked to lead the Packers‘ offense without wide receiver Davante Adams. A wideout cast including veterans Allen Lazard and Sammy Watkins combined with rookies Romeo Doubs and first-round pick Christian Watson will now be asked to shoulder the load. The Vikings’ Justin Jefferson is poised to become the NFL’s best wide receiver in his third season.

Raiders vs. Chargers

Moneyline: Las Vegas (+145) | LA Chargers (-175)

Derek Carr is reunited with former Fresno State teammate in Adams and that has Las Vegas’ offense poised to be among the best in 2022. On the other side of the ball, the Chargers counter with an explosive offensive attack led by Justin Herbert. Bettors have profited at a 73% clip (19-7 ATS) backing the underdog in the last 26 meetings between these AFC West rivals. The Raiders, who are 3.5-point road underdogs, are also 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road meetings with the Chargers.

Buccaneers vs. Cowboys

Moneyline: Tampa Bay (-138) | Dallas (+115)
Spread: TB -2.5 (-110) | DAL +2.5 (-110)
Total: 50 - Over(-110) | Under (-110)
Game Info: Sept. 11, 2022 8:20 pm ET | NBC

Both teams have massive injuries along their respective offensive lines which has resulted in the opening 52.5 point total dropping to 50. These two powerful squads also met in Week 1 last season with the Buccaneers coming away with a 31-29 victory while failing to cover as 10-point home favorites. However, it’s hard to expect that kind of scoring output in this season’s rematch. The Cowboys have thrived when placed in the role of home underdogs, posting a perfect 7-0 ATS mark in their last seven when spotted points by oddsmakers.

Broncos vs. Seahawks

Moneyline: Denver (-275) | Seattle (+225)
Spread: DEN -6.5 (-110) | SEA +6.5 (-110)
Total: 43.5 – Over (-110) | Under (-110)
Game Info: Sept. 12, 2022 | 8:15 p.m. ET | ESPN

Denver is easily the biggest public play in Week 1 as Russell Wilson goes back to Seattle to face his former club on Monday Night Football. This game opened with Denver as 3.5-point favorites but following significant steam the Seahawks have risen to 6.5-point home underdogs. Thus far, bettors are willing to overlook that the Broncos are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games.
