76ers Innovation Lab’s First Company: Monster Roster For Daily Fantasy Sports Lineups

The 76ers Innovation Lab Crafted by Kimball is introducing a new company that is a one-stop shop for fantasy advice.

Monster Roster is a daily fantasy sports lineup recommendation tool that helps users build optimal lineups and is the first company to join the Sixers Innovation Lab at the team’s training complex in Camden, N.J., according to the 76ers.

The lab works with select early-stage companies at the intersection of sports and consumer products. The applicants selected receive furnished offices in the Innovation Lab and access to top sports executives as well as third-party branding, marketing and legal experts.

Monster Roster CEO Dylan Elder was a Georgetown University student when he teamed up with friends from his hometown of San Francisco to create an algorithm that can predict players’ fantasy point performance per game.

From there, Elder and Boston College student Davis Pollino co-founded Monster Roster. The program had already taken off on campus, and once it had potential as a startup, Elder decided to take time off from school to attend the Sixers Innovation Lab.

“The Sixers Innovation Lab has allowed me to grow my company at a pace I never would have imagined,” Elder said.

“Every day I am challenged and inspired to think bigger; I am confident the entire industry will be talking about Monster Roster in the months ahead.”

Monster Roster’s algorithm selects the best player option for each position until a user’s lineup is complete. After a four-week trial, the Monster Roster can be purchased for $20 per month and can be used for the NBA, NFL and MLB.

In the first five weeks of the 2016 NFL season, Monster Roster users have performed roughly 25 percent more often than the population of lineups on DraftKings, and 75 percent of users have cashed in on 50/50 contests in just four weeks.

Monster Roster can create about 100,000 unique beta lineups per week.
