Andre Iguodala Takes Tech And Business Talents To His Own Talk Show

Andre Iguodala has reached agreement with the Golden State Warriors on a three-year, $48 million contract, and after having successfully negotiated that deal, he’ll be working on developing a talk show with live streaming financial news network Cheddar.

Iguodala and Cheddar have partnered to create original programming that includes “Evenings with Andre,” a talk show under development that the NBA veteran will host and work to bring together guests from the business, tech, sports and entertainment worlds. The premiere is expected to come this summer.

“I’m passionate about tech, media and startups, and ‘Evenings with Andre’ allows me to discuss the topics that continue to fascinate me,” Iguodala said in a statement. “I’m excited to share what’s new and trending in Silicon Valley and beyond, and Cheddar is the perfect partner for our first show.”

Cheddar is collaborating with The Freetown Project, a content production company formed by Iguodala and business partner Rudy Cline-Thomas. TFP content will be told through mediums including TV, digital and feature film and be “crafted for a diverse, cross-cultural audience.”

It’s yet another dive into the business world for Iguodala, who already invests in companies including TruMid, Thrive Global, Casper, Walker & Company, Hingeto and The Players Tribune. Iguodala also recently announced he along with teammate Stephen Curry are hosting The Players Technology Summit, presented by Bloomberg.

“Andre is a star on the court and off the court, where he actively invests in startups and engages with the tech and media communities,” Cheddar CEO Jon Steinberg said in a statement. “He’s the ideal host for an evening talk show aimed at a new generation interested in technology, media, sports, culture, food, and everything else under the sun.”
