Bimoz Is An e-Bike Motor That Can Be Added To Any Bicycle

An Indiegogo campaign is trying to bring the lighest e-bike concept to market with Bimoz.

Danae Ringlemann, Eric Schell and Slava Rubin founded Indiegogo in 2008. Their goal is to empower creative, entrepreneurial people to bring their ideas to life. The campaign of Bimoz is to cover the initial costs for tooling and industrial molds. After that, it is their mission to get the Bimoz to users as soon as possible.

Bimoz is an e-bike motor that only weighs four pounds. The device works in any weather, at any temperature and in different environments. Bimoz easily connects to any bicycle, from mountain bikes, to racing bikes and city bikes. With its unique add-on motor, Bimoz hopes to help keep a clean environment and encourage users to take new paths to work.

To connect Bimoz to your bike, dismount the pedal, attach Bimoz to the bottom bracket and then reconnect the pedal. Instead of adding power to either the front or back wheels, it adds it directly to the middle. To recharge, the removable battery can be plugged in at home or at work.

Bimoz does not have gears. Gears are rather noisy and often require maintenance or cause complications. Instead, Bimoz uses a direct drive motor. This leads to no added friction because there is no gearbox, making the device durable.

Depending on a bikers use, Bimoz has a standard range of about 80-93 miles and can usually hit speeds up to 16 mph. The range can change due to the speed, terrain, weight of the rider and driving conditions.

Bimoz also has an app. You can use the app to track your routes and then share your paths with friends or you can use it as a training tool. Users can enter their pulse rate and if the ride becomes too much Bimoz provides assistance. Or if the ride is too easy then Bimoz lets the user do more. Overall, it can be customized to your personal fitness, with various levels of difficulty.

A Bimoz-system includes the connector, control-unit, a battery, the power regulator, a Bluetooth-speed-detector and the installation guide. There are also different packages you can purchase with prices that range from $899 to $11,999.

Bimoz has an uphill battler to reach its fundraising goal but as of now delivery is planned to begin in August.
