Bleacher Report to Use WSC Sports’ Automated Video Technology for UEFA Coverage

Bleacher Report has announced an extended partnership with artificial intelligence platform WSC Sports to produce automated video content for Bleacher Report’s coverage of the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.

WSC Sports’ platform will automatically create video highlights of key plays, individual players, and specific games from two of Europe’s most highly regarded soccer tournaments. The video content will then be delivered across Bleacher Report’s website and social media channels, as well as the B/R Live streaming service.

“WSC Sports’ platform enables us to create customized highlights of every key moment for UEFA fans in real time,” said Bennett Spector, vice president of programming for Bleacher Report, in a press release. “Based on the success we’ve seen with pro and college sports, we are excited to bring the same technology to world football fans in the same short-form format we know they love.”

Bleacher Report has previously worked alongside WSC Sports to produce automatically generated video content for college basketball fans during the NCAA March Madness tournament. During that collaboration, WSC Sports created personalized highlights for fans based on the teams that they selected within the Bleacher Report mobile app. The two companies have also partnered in the past to boost Bleacher Report’s NBA coverage.

Turner Sports-owned B/R Live has exclusive broadcasting rights to stream all UEFA Champions League and Europa League matches thanks to a deal signed in August. Bleacher Report’s extended partnership with WSC Sports to enhance its European soccer coverage comes one month after the media company debuted its comedic animated series about the Champions League.
