Cristiano Ronaldo Goes Shirtless On Instagram Live To Celebrate Hitting 100 Million Followers

Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated becoming the first athlete to hit 100 million Instagram followers by going live on the app. In his seven minute, 39 second live stream, Ronaldo strips down to his underwear, sends his shoutouts to a litany of countries from which his fans reside and addresses his haters, of which there are many, in a sardonic, yet genuine tone.

“(To) the haters: still hate me because without you I’m not what I am today, so keep going.” Ronaldo said. “But the most important thing is my fans — always at my side. This is why I’m always strong-minded.”

Ronaldo ends the video by taking off his shirt — something of a trademark of his — and shorts in order to take a celebratory dive into his pool.
