  • Problems With Formula 1 Streaming Platform May Take Year to Resolve: Technical issues that have marred Formula 1’s new F1 TV streaming service are expected take another year to fix, according to F1 CEO Chase Carey. He called problems that plagued F1 TV during coverage of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix “unexpected”. Liberty Media-owned F1 TV has experienced glitches since its debut in 2018. “It’s probably between the beginning of next year and the beginning of the following year that we get to the ‘phase one’ of what we feel is the over the top product that we envisioned going into it,” Carey said, according to AutoSport.
  • VSiN Shows Will Air on Game+, GameTV channels in U.S. and Canada: Vegas Stats & Information Network has partnered with Toronto-based broadcaster Anthem Sports & Entertainment to air two of its shows in the U.S. and Canada. A Numbers Game will air live on the Game+ channel in the U.S. and Canada. The daily show will air each weekday morning from 9 to 11 a.m ET. VSiN’s weekly sports betting highlights show, Best of VSiN, will also be distributed across the Game+ and GameTV channels in Canada. The partnership marks VSiN’s first foray into international media markets.
  • Turner Sports’ PGA Championship Coverage to Include Hawk-Eye, Toptracer, and GolfTrax: Turner Sports’ live coverage of the upcoming PGA Championship will be shown across TNT, B/R Live, as well as PGA.com, PGAChampionship.com, and the PGA Championship App. TNT will utilize Hawk-Eye Green Technology to display live graphic overlays, along with Toptracer technology to display ball flight, curve, ball speed and trajectory on approach shots. The broadcast will also integrate GolfTrax to create virtual animations that display yardages, ball locations, and pin placements for every hole at the Bethpage Black Course in Long Island, NY.
  • Appetize Reports Boosts to Consumer Spending at LSU and AT&T Center: Point-of-sale platform Appetize announced its self-service kiosks have increased consumer spending at Louisiana State University’s basketball arena and at AT&T Center, home of the San Antonio Spurs. LSU has seen 25 percent more items bought per transaction at the self-service kiosks, while AT&T Center has seen an 18-percent increase in average order size. “Appetize made it extremely easy for us to deploy a self-service platform and shift toward the future of ordering at athletic events,” said Matthew LaBorde, assistant athletics director at LSU, in a press release.
