Diamond Kinetics Focuses On Softball, Partners With National Fastpitch Coaches Association

3D training is one of the hottest trends blossoming out of the sporting world, and Diamond Kinetics is capitalizing on it.

Diamond Kinetics came the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s newest official sponsor, as the company that enables swing analysis has focused on the softball sphere.

“The use of technology has become very important within the fast-pitch community,” NFCA Executive Director, Carol Bruggeman said in a statement. “Diamond Kinetics will provide our members with easy-to-use educational tools to help teams succeed.”

Founded in 2013, Diamond Kinetics’ purpose is to provide real-time quantitative data and training guidance for sports performance via mobile applications and wireless internal measuring units across baseball and softball.

Its role with the NFCA is simple, educate the softball community using technology that enhances learning and training processes.

Diamond Kinetics will use its SwingTracker technology, a sensor-based swing analysis system, which uses thousands of data points that replay and display the results to your mobile phone.

The SwingTracker Softball app launched earlier this year has two features; the Swing Plane and Hand Cast 3D drills.

Hand Cast critiques a player’s ability to get the bat through the zone and stay inside on the ball. On the other hand, Swing Plane works the player’s angle and approach to the ball.

The drills can be adjusted in skill level (gold, silver and bronze) in order to see a user’s ability to control the swing.

With these drills, Diamond Kinetics hopes that softball programs will see the benefits of using technology-driven drills throughout their season, all while solidifying tech’s place in the sport.

In addition to the SwingTracker app, Diamond Kinetics was also crowned the lead sponsor for the “NFCA/Diamond Kinetics Technology Adoption Scholarship” and the “NFCA Convention App Powered by Diamond Kinetics.”

The scholarship will honor a fast-pitch softball program that has integrated the technology into its program, and will be presented during the 2017, 2018 and 2019 conventions.

The convention app will also be available for download for the first time during the 2016 NFCA Convention in New Orleans.

The app provides attendees with the ability to create a calendar of events, interact with speakers in real time and keep track of other convention opportunities.

“We are very excited and greatly looking forward to the opportunity to work with the NFCA,” Diamond Kinetics CEO C.J. Handron said in a statement. “This partnership has the opportunity to have a long-lasting, meaningful impact in the game in both the short-term and long-term future for all coaches and players.”

The SwingTracker Softball app is available for download in the iTunes Store for users that want to personally use the app.
