Dreamfuel, the premiere startup that builds tools for athletes and teams, has released a new campaign privacy feature for their funding tool. When creating a campaign, athletes now have the option whether to display a percentage goal for the audience or a public monetary amount.

The Dreamfuel team had been discussing this feature in particular for Dreamfuel’s athlete users (as opposed to teams). Says Dreamfuel CEO Emily White “Individual athletes who are need a viable direct to fan revenue stream don’t always want to announce their training and competition costs publically. Teams are a bit different as a it’s a group mentality. By providing this option for all Dreamfuel athletes, one can now choose their privacy preference.”

The feature was developed by Dreamfuel CTO Nicole Pank to create financial discretion for athletes and teams fundraising on the site. The amount of financial assistance needed varies from user to user and sport to sport, and it can be a sensitive subject for those who undoubtedly need the support to achieve their athletic goals. In order to give athletes peace of mind, this feature was developed to mitigate concerns regarding financial privacy, allowing athletes to focus on achieving their goals, rather than creating any unnecessary financial stress.

Says White, “I believe we are the first in the sports vertical to implement this feature and I couldn’t be more proud of Nicole and the team for doing so. The response has already been strong from our athletes and we’re excited to continue to roll out new features and tools that support the people we want to support the most – the athletes and teams who inspire us all.”

This is on the heels of Dreamfuel bringing back it’s #DreamfuelFamily initiative, now in support of getting NCAA families to college championship events, similar to how Dreamfuel fueled Olympians’ families to Rio last year in the same manner. Additionally, Dreamfuel was recently contacted by The President of Afghanistan Swimming Federation to fund the country’s first ever National Women’s Swim Team, and is actively running campaigns for Head U.S. Olympic swim coach David Marsh’s Team Elite program, Olympic gold medalist Breeja Larson, and gearing up for PyeongChang 2018 by supporting Winter Olympic hopefuls Briana Kramer, Mystique Ro, and Andrew Kurka.
