- ESPNews will integrate on-screen sports betting graphics appearing 24-hours a day, except during live events. The graphics will show sports betting news, lines and information starting Aug. 20. ESPN also announced its gambling news and info show Daily Wager will shift from ESPNews to ESPN2. A new one-hour long Sunday morning edition of Daily Wager will debut Sept. 8 and air during the upcoming football season. ESPN recently built a Las Vegas studio in partnership with Caesars.
- Bleacher Report will launch new football programming for its B/R Gridiron digital brand on Sept. 2. This includes a live fantasy show where hosts will answer questions submitted by fans on social media, and an NFL betting show. Both will air every NFL Sunday and be shot on-stage at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, where the company recently built a studio in partnership with Caesars. “Because it is on the floor of the Caesars casino, we could absolutely come up with segments that include the opportunity for participants to win prizes and money,” said Bleacher Report chief content officer Sam Toles about the new betting show.
BETTING-LITE: NBC Sports Washington Experiments During NFL Preseason
- High school sports marketing platform VNN Sports has partnered with HomeTown Ticketing and ArbiterSports. Roughly 3,000 schools across the country already utilize the VNN Sports platform. VNN users will now be able to purchase online tickets via HomeTown Ticketing, while ArbiterSports will also integrate its referee scheduling platform. “These are two of the leading technology companies in high schools sports coming together to make life easy for the different stakeholders in the industry,” said Ryan Vaughn, VNN’s founder and president.
- Eleven Sports has acquired exclusive Taiwanese streaming rights for the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships and the FIVB Men’s and Women’s Volleyball World Cups. The World Athletics Championships are scheduled to take place in Qatar, while Japan will host the volleyball World Cups. All three events will occur between September and October. Eleven’s Taiwanese streaming portfolio also includes the NBA, the EPL, and Lamigo Monkeys of the Chinese Professional Baseball League.
