Fantasy App Kroo Sports Signs Deal to Integrate STATS Data Intelligence

Fantasy sports gaming app Kroo Sports has signed a deal with STATS to power the Kroo Sports mobile app using STATS data and analysis. The Kroo Sports app rewards winning fantasy players with in-game credits that can be redeemed for free tickets to sporting events across the United States.

STATS data will now be integrated into the app to display the latest scores across MLB, the NBA, NFL, and NHL. A premium data feature will also allow users to make live predictions during baseball games, such as predicting a hitter’s at-bat outcome before he steps into the batter’s box. STATS’ library of data will be made available to users to help them make better-informed decisions. Participation in Kroo Sports gaming and live-betting contests is free and fans can also win tickets to games by correctly answering sports trivia questions.

“Kroo Sports takes a unique twist on fan engagement through a free, incentive-based form of gaming that gets sports fans more involved in the action,” said Steve Xeller, Chief Revenue Officer at STATS, in a press release. “By using the fastest and most accurate data in the industry from STATS, fans can make real-time predictions and get results instantly on their phone. Not only does this encourage fans to stay engaged with their favorite teams, but it rewards them with tickets to see them live.”

The free app is available for download via the Apple Store or Google Play for iOS and Android devices. To access games inside Kroo Sports for the chance to win free tickets, the app requires users select their favorite sports teams, incentivizing them to follow the latest team news and updates posted within the app.

“Sports fans are passionate about their teams and the game, and Kroo Sports lets them take their fandom to the next level,” said Matt Anello, Operations and Content Manager at Kroo Sports, in the press release. “We need fast and accurate data to give fans instant results to their predictions. By connecting with STATS, our data streams are updated instantly and we have more options for creating new games on the platform.”

Many fantasy sports platforms have integrated with data analytics providers similar to STATS over the past year. For example, ESPN offers its fantasy football players insight into artificial intelligence data generated by IBM Watson, and DraftKings recently signed a deal with sports data hub iSport Genius to offer data analytics to users placing sports bets within the DraftKings app.
