Fitbit’s At-Home Fitness Coach App Comes To Xbox, Windows 10

Fitbit has extended its Coach app, an at-home fitness app that was previously only available on Android and iOS, to TV screens via Xbox One on Windows 10.

The basic membership for Fitbit Coach, which includes access to one personalized program and a selection of audio and video workouts, is free. A premium subscription, which includes unlimited workouts and additional features such as workout recommendations based on a user’s daily activity and customizable music via Fitbit Radio, is $39.99 a year.

The app is compatible with the Xbox One family of consoles, a Windows 10 PC or the Hololens. It also syncs with any PurePulse-enabled Fitbit tracker or a smartwatch with continuous heart rate monitoring.

In other words, Fitbit Coach for Xbox offers the same experience users have come to expect of the Fitbit Coach app on Android and iOS, only on a bigger screen. A user’s real-time heart rate appears on their TV.

Fitbit launched the personalized training app when it unveiled the Fitbit Ionic smartwatch last summer. The workouts are led by a real trainer (as opposed to a stick-figure cartoon or graphic) that shows users how to do certain exercises.

The app analyzes biometric data from wearable devices to determine whether the workout was too easy or too hard and then adjusts based on personal goals.
