Fronto, inventor of the Android app designed to give people rewards delivered to the home lock screen, has announced new customers in the gaming and entertainment industry for their advertising app. The Fronto app takes advantage of the widely untapped real estate of the smartphone homescreen and delivers targeted ads to users.
Fronto added Discotech, a nightlife reservations app that uses geo-location for mobile advertising and allows the user to make reservations to many special events in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Fronto also added Plynery, a mobile app game developer who is using gender and age targeting to reach an audience based on demographics. Lastly, WGT Media, a sports gaming company that has over 15 million players worldwide across online, mobile, and social media and are the leaders of browser based golf game partnered with Fronto.
“We advertise with Fronto because their lock screen app delivers a high level of specific demographic targeting, for example, males from age 18 to 35, and our lock screen advertising on Fronto, has achieved an impression-to-conversion rate of 3.2%, which is about 30-40% higher than other campaigns in the same category,” said Kenneth Ryu, VP of Operations at Playnery in a press release.
Advertisers can take advantage of the mobile situation based on research from Mobile Posse, who found that delivering ads though the mobile home screen would be timely and relevant. According to Mobile Posse, mobile users have an urge to “stay connected” and check their phones for their notifications, thus having to use their home screen all while advertisers present their offers.
The lock screen app delivers customized news, deals and discounts to users by presenting the content on the home screen of their device all while the user earns rewards in the form of points that can be redeemed for special offers.
For sports fans who are constantly checking their phones for Twitter, Fantasy updates, industry insights and the latest sports scores and news, Fronto could be an interesting new player in the sports advertising realm.
