Dating back to 2001, the Florida Panthers have twice made the NHL playoffs. With the team back in contention this year and just a few games remaining, fans who want to keep a close watch on the team’s run can get an inside look at the final days of the regular season.
Home Team: Florida Panthers, produced by NHL Original Productions and Check Point Productions, will follow the team’s remaining days this season, on the ice and off. This marks the second season of Home Team; the first followed the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights.

-A portion of the new series will center around the recent tragedy in Parkland, Florida. The Panthers’ home, BB&T Center, is a short twenty-minute drive from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where the February shooting occurred.
SportTechie Takeaway:
If it seems like these behind-the-scenes shows have been popping up left and right, it’s because they have. There are plenty of examples of shows that either have been, or currently are being streamed. In February, Inside the Madness: University of Kentucky Basketball followed Coach John Calipari and his Kentucky men’s basketball squad.
Facebook Watch streamed Ball In The Family, which, you guessed it, follows the always-entertaining Ball family. Even before the launch of Facebook Watch, Amazon Prime aired a docuseries that followed Jim Harbaugh and his Michigan football team.
Outside of the US, a recent report on the Indian sports industry suggested that non-live sports content, like Home Team, will make a significant impact on that country’s sports landscape.
