Jared Jeffries Goes From NBA To Esports Talent Evaluator


Jared Jeffries recently served as the Denver Nuggets’ director of pro personnel after playing 11 NBA seasons. Now he’s leaving basketball to become a front office executive in a new industry — esports.

Jeffries was announced as president of Echo Fox on Thursday, and starting Aug. 1, he will be responsible for player recruiting and team development in the professional esports organization owned by former NBA player Rick Fox. According to Vision Venture Partners, Jeffries will also beinvolved in roster selection, team management, hiring and managing team coaches and GMs and overseeing player training, health and wellness programs. He’ll also have a role in brand building, including overseeing the streaming platforms, social media efforts and sponsor and advertiser relationships.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join the Echo Fox family as it’s clear they’re leading the way in the next great spectator sport,” Jeffries said in a statement.

Stratton Sclavos, founding partner at Vision Venture Partners, said in a statement that Jeffries was an “epic hire.”

“Jared Jeffries is a proven winner and fierce competitor on and off the court,” Fox said in a statement. “We cannot be more excited to have someone with his pedigree as a professional player and front office executive help lead Echo Fox as it continues its ascension to the number one esports organization in the world.”
