KeenBrace Wearable Has Real-Time Injury Risk Assessment Analysis

Without a coach it’s hard to adjust a workout on the fly. Fatigue puts added stress on your muscles, but how are you supposed to know the small fix that might help? KeenBrace, a fitness wearable, can offer advice in real-time during activities like running, weight training and CrossFit. Depending on the exercise, the device can be worn on the arm, forearm or thigh.

Muscle activation and fatigue are monitored through a sEMG (surface electromyogram) to provide instantaneous feedback. While running you might hear suggestions like “avoid bouncing” or “land softer.” These focus points can help correct posture thus reducing your risk of injury.

KeenBrace can also be used as a bridge between you and many of your fitness goals. During a workout the KeenBrace app collects raw data from its core. For two years founder Ken Leung worked on the algorithm (muscle mapping technology + BMI + body fat + movements) to translate that data in order to give users four ways of tracking their workouts.

The four areas will shed light on how your muscles respond and recover from different workouts. This way you know what works best for your body and keeps you progressing.

On top of these features, KeenBrace’s biosensors reads your body’s vitals, similar to that of an Apple Watch or Fitbit HR.

The wearable was made available on Indiegogo on Wednesday.
