Last week, a new consumer wearable eyesight technology company was launched by Elbit Systems, the largest defense technology company in Israel. According to the press release, the new company, Everysight, has years of experience in developing the best vision systems and augmented reality systems in the market. Their technology is highlighted by their proven success in integrating real-time data into the helmets of air force pilots. The first product for the new company will be the Raptor, smartglasses developed with professional cyclists to feel like traditional sports eyewear but help the athletes get the most out of their training.
The technology included in the Raptor smartglasses includes Everysight Beam technology. This will set the smartglasses apart from other potential competitors in the market because it is so similar to what air force pilots have been using. Everysight Beam is the unique display that can be seen by the wearer of the product. The data is overlayed directly in the wearer’s line of sight so that a cyclist can continue to be as focused and engaged as possible while having access to important information such as speed, heart rate, and distance traveled.
CEO of Everysight, Asaf Ashkenazi, believes in his company and that the experience gained with Elbit Systems is leading to an excellent opportunity to develop military grade technology for civilian use. According to Ashkenazi, Everysight has “more than 30 years of experience and dominate[s] the market in vision systems and augmented reality, integrating real-time data in pilots’ helmets to optimize performance and keep pilots safe and focused on what matters.”

He believes that “now we’re bringing this experience to the consumer market with smartglasses that will revolutionize how athletes see and experience information. Raptor is the first step in our greater plan to create a full line of smartglasses.”
The Raptor by Everysight will launch in 2016, along with an open program for the developer community and a schedule of full product details. Everysight also set up a website on everysight.com for consumers to receive updates and announcements pertaining to the release of the Raptor.
