There are so many talented athletes around the world that don’t always get the opportunity to showcase their skills at the collegiate level. However, the co-creators of the LemonAid college-recruiting app Nate Boyle, CEO and Eric Knight, VP Business Development just may have found a solution with their app. Last year we featured LemonAid in our Startup Profile Series, and since then they have continued growing.
Their mission to help high school athletes be found, recruited and become successful leaders of tomorrow initially started with just swimming, diving and rowing. However, they will be releasing football, basketball, baseball, track, golf, tennis, lacrosse, and water polo next week, along with volleyball, soccer, wrestling and softball set to be released in June. Their goal is to have all sports released before July 1.

One other option they offer now is letting influencers like club coaches, fans, friends, and family in on the action through swipe then drag drop recommendation to suggest colleges to high school athletes. Their main goal is to increase the communication channels and bridge the space between actual experiences and digital.
Boyle was an All-American, NCAA Champ at Auburn, and USA National Team member in swimming. He also has coached at every level the sport has to offer and is the father of an athlete. I spoke with Boyle and discussed how his experience on all sides of the athlet spectrum influences his work at LemonAid. “Find a coach that encourages and a home away from home because that’s what I would want for my son,” he said.
The LemonAid app recently received certification from the NCAA as a NCAA compliant recruiting service and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has made them a preferred mobile recruiting app.
Education is the foremost element of college athletics, hence the “student” coming first in the student-athlete term. Boyle believes finding a perfect match isn’t just about the right fit for your athletic abilities, but also where you can grow in the classroom and into a leader. His advice is to “use your athletic ability to open up educational doors for you.”
The LemonAid team has no plans of resting on their recent growth and acceptance. Boyle’s future plans include having combine-like assessments on the app as well.
You can try out the LemonAid by downloading it on any iOS or Android device.
