Milwaukee Bucks Choose Johnson Controls As ‘Smart Building Partner’ For New Arena

The Milwaukee Bucks have chosen Johnson Controls as its “smart building” partner for the new Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center. Johnson Controls will work to incorporate technology throughout the building. It will be Johnson Controls’ job to reduce the building’s energy usage and make the building’s carbon footprint minimal.

“This is a partnership that is involved in the infrastructure of the arena from our HVAC system to our security systems to our integration of video and IP system,” Bucks president Peter Feigin told WISN.

The company will be responsible for adding other elements to the fan experience. Johnson Controls will work on the building’s wifi, concessions, lighting, heating, ventilation and more, Feigin told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Feigin added that they will be working to appease the tech-savvy fan who is used to enjoying games on their televisions and phones at the same time.

Johnson Controls is the first “Founding Partner” to join the project. According to Feigin, five to seven more will be added in the coming months.

The Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center – a $524 million project – is scheduled to open at the beginning of the 2018-19 NBA season.
