Minnesota Wild fans have an opportunity to jump into the skates of their goaltender, Devan Dubnyk, through the world of virtual reality.
Developed by Visual in collaboration with The Brand Enhancement Group and brought to the public by Hiway Federal Credit Union, the interactive game will be located in the concourse of the Xcel Energy Center during 10 Minnesota Wild games throughout this season, including on Monday.
“This new game will make attending a Minnesota Wild game at Xcel Energy Center even more exciting for fans,” Hiway president and CEO Dave Boden said in a statement. “It’s the next best thing to putting on the pads and getting between the pipes. Now everyone can feel what it’s like to be Devan Dubnyk.”

This experience uses the latest virtual reality technology and puts Wilds fans on the ice where they are to stop show with a specially-rigged hockey stick.
Dubnyk, who tested out the VR game against Wild owner Craig Leopold, told FOX Sports North that the experience was “pretty genuine,” especially if you watch the puck to the stick.
The VR game debuted Oct. 18 and will be available for use on Dec. 12, Dec. 20, Jan. 17, Feb. 8, March 7, March 18 and April 4. It’s free of charge to play.
