Motiv Ring Aims To Make Fitness Trackers More Fashionable, Discrete

The newest personal fitness tracker is so discrete, it looks like it could be a wedding band.

The Motiv Ring, which comes in rose gold and slate gray, tracks the wearer’s sleep, heart rate and activity. Motiv decided to create a ring for its first product as opposed to the traditional bracelet with the goal of giving users a fitness tracker that would “fit seamlessly into your life” and that “you never want to take off.”

The ring features Bluetooth allowing it to sync to smart devices, a heart rate sensor, and is made of ultralight titanium. The device’s battery can last for up to five days.

The device can also track distance traveled, steps, active minutes, sleep duration, activity types and more.

At launch, Motiv Ring will support iOS 9.0 or later, with the company currently working on an Android app that it expects to release shortly after the first wave of Motiv Rings are shipped in the spring.

“We’ve spent the past three years building a truly unique and challenging product,” it reads on the Motiv website. “Our Motiv Ring Beta testers are actively giving us valuable insights and data we feel are critical additions to our first product and we’re working hard to deliver the best experience possible. These updates are worth the wait and will truly delight our users.”
