NBA 2K15 has finally been released and it offers one of the more exciting features in sport video games in the form of facial scan technology that lets players scan themselves into the game.
Unfortunately, what sounds like an amazing feature has fallen short as there seems to be a problem when gamers scan their face with the camera resulting in very underwhelming but hilarious models.
Some players are less than satisfied with the facial scan technology and the disfigured monstrosities that appear on screen. NBA 2K Digital Marketing Director Ronnie Singh has come out and tweeted advice in the form of a PDF on how gamers can successfully scan their faces onto the game.

Apparently, to get the best face scan players should not wear any headgear as it interferes with the face scanning. There should be no smiling or any other kinds of facial expressions while the camera is working and players should always keep their eyes open while keeping their face within the square on the screen. Maybe 2K Sports did not take into consideration that not every living room is the same as the other.Lighting environments and backgrounds might play a role as to why the scanning feature creates ugly, but hilarious, player models.
For now, gamers should follow the advice that 2K Sports has released and hope their face gets scanned successfully. After all, it is a really cool piece of technology that produces very cool results when it works.
