NBC Sports’ Rotoworld Launches Lineup Simulator for NFL Fantasy

NBC Sports is launching a new kit on Rotoworld ahead of the 2018-19 NFL season that will enable fantasy players to simulate up to 150 lineups.

The fantasy news site’s first-ever NFL daily fantasy sports (DFS) toolkit pulls in various statistics to help FanDuel, Yahoo! and DraftKings users build customized lineups based on player projections, team statistics and news.

The lineup tool enables users to easily shift around potential scenarios by doing things such as excluding any player, locking a player into place, or setting the maximum percentage of lineups that use a player. The toolkit’s “Next Man Up” feature allows users to select any player and statistically re-simulate how the game will turn out with that player removed.

Custom projections allow users to create their own projections based on historical stats, weights and various adjustments, while looking at a player’s recent games, all current season games, head-to-head matchups, home vs. away games, or games with similar odds. Search preferences can be saved as a custom projection and implemented multiple times without duplicating effort.

The 2018 Rotoworld NFL DFS Toolkit is available ahead of the 2018-19 NFL season for $99.99.

The popularity of fantasy sports, buoyed further by the recent legalization of sports gambling in the U.S., has led to the development of sophisticated products aimed at helping fantasy players make more informed decisions about their drafts and lineups.

Media companies, such as CBS and NBC, are offering more advanced products to differentiate themselves from the competition while attempting to satisfy fantasy players’ appetite for data. In a similar vein, earlier this month, CBS announced that it would offer fantasy players solicited advice via Google Assistant about who to draft, start, add, or trade based on CBS and SportsLine sports rankings and projections data.
