Kickstarter is promoting a campaign to fund the BSG2, an all-weather and top quality snow goggle featuring instantly replaceable magnetic lenses and an unbreakable frame. The Kickstarter campaign was set up by the Dutch company that designed the goggle, Blueprint Eyeware. As of Friday, November 13, the Kickstarter campaign raised $95,743 dollars with 609 donors.
Blueprint Eyeware’s mission is to develop the most scientifically advanced snow goggles on the planet for half the price of the top name brands. The company selected Electric, Oakley, Dragon, and Anon as their top competitors. The technology advancements begin with the ten high performance magnets that attach the lens to the frame of the goggles. These high performance magnets not only are designed to guarantee the lens stays in place, it also eases the difficulty of switching out lenses on the goggle.
The next advancement in the BSG2 is the unbreakable frame. Blueprint Eyeware claims that their frames are made of the best quality materials and as a result, the company offers a lifetime guarantee on the frame. The frame also forms a tighter and more comfortable seal on a skier or snowboarder’s face. Lenses on the BSG2 have received a technology upgrade as well. The standard lenses for the BSG2 are hydrophobic so water beads and doesn’t smear across. Other features include anti-scratch, anti-reflective, and anti-fog coatings.

In addition to the interchangeable magnetic lenses, indestructible frames, and high performance coatings applied to the lenses, the BSG2 also provides a collection of various removable head straps that can be applied to the goggle. The straps can be changed out from the goggle as quickly and efficiently as the snap on lenses. Of all the high-end goggle competitors for the BSG2, no other goggle on the market has an instantly replaceable lens or an instantly replaceable strap.
The campaign has been a success overall with two out of three stretch goals completed with nine days left to go. Several of the pledge category amounts have already sold out. Pledge packages offer a variety of add-ons to the goggles, depending on how much a person donates. The goggle looks like the real deal and just watching the promotional video on the Kickstarter page makes you want to strap on a BSG2, grab your snowboard or skis, and hit the slopes immediately. Thanks to the successful crowdfunding campaign, the BSG2 will be at a ski slope near you in the future.
