In an era many would not have predicted, watches, of all things are becoming increasingly capable of things that only scientists in a lab could do 10 years ago. New smartwatches and their apps are now able to improve physical performance and track progress through a range of apps run by different sport and tech companies.
There are apps for running, swimming, cycling and even golf. But what about a sport like tennis? ‘Too complex’ is what many might say, especially to be built into a watch. Well an up-and-coming sports identity known as Off-Season Sports has developed 10 different apps that are specific to the improvement and tracking of the tennis player.
The Tennis Activity Tracker is a suite of smartwatch apps that was built to help tennis players improve and track their performance whether they are new to the game or at an elite level. The development is unlike anything the smartwatch has seen and will change the way tennis athletes train to reach their peak.
President of Off-Season Sports said, “With these 10 apps, the tool offers players endless possibilities for improvement. There are many different tennis training aids, but none meet the caliber of the Tennis Activity Tracker apps. It’s unmatched in its ability to help athletes practice more efficiently.“
Within the collection of apps, there are many different features that aim to work on different parts of the game. For the beginner, there is an app built to focus on the fundamentals of the game that will introduce players into the game involving a series of videos on a range of techniques.
A virtual coaching app allows the user to film parts of their game and send to Off-Season Sports’ coaches to receive real-life feedback, while if players need any clarification on rules of the game; there is an app that will clarify anything from technicalities to safety.
There are also a number of apps that focus on tracking performance, including the workout app, which provides a range of workouts that are customizable, an app to set nutrition plans as well as a swing tracker that provides feedback on speed and accuracy of a shot.
There are also two apps that focus on the social aspect, one that provides live scores and allows users to connect with others, and also an app dedicated to matching tennis players in the local area who want to play a match.
The apps will be functional on any iOS or Android watch, including Apple’s Apple Watch or LG’s G Watch.
The Tennis Activity Tracker is currently under development and looking for investors vie IndieGoGo. Off-Season Sports are hoping to have it available for purchase by December of this year.
Those who are keen to watch their tennis games improve with the turn of a wrist may find this new athletic purchase ideal.
