NFL Teams To Hold Madden Tournaments Streamed On Twitch In 2017


The NFL season will continue long after Super Bowl LI is played in Houston on Feb. 5, albeit of a gaming variety.

On Friday, the league announced that eight participating NFL clubs would hold Madden NFL 17 video game competitions in February and March, giving gamers an opportunity to win $10,000 in total prizes at each city in front of a live audience. Additionally, the competitions will be streamed on team websites and apps in addition to the Madden NFL Twitch channel.

Fans can begin qualifying on Jan. 9 to see who is among the top eight gamers in each city.

The winners will then compete in April’s Madden 17 Club Series Championship, which has a $50,000 prize pool and provides gamers the opportunity to qualify for the 2017 EA Sports Madden Championship the following month.

Participating teams include the Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars, San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs.
