ONE World Sports Reinforces Partnership With Verizon To Enhance Mobile Content Distribution

ONE World Sports is a live sports content network that strives to bring Americans coverage of their sports being played outside the US. To build off recent growth, ONE World has announced an expansion of its platform to now include Verizon’s go90 mobile-first video streaming app.

“Verizon understands the appeal and impact of live sports delivered perfectly on multiple platforms,” said Randy Brown, ONE World Sports Executive Vice President, Distribution. “As our partnership with Verizon has grown, it has become apparent how much Verizon appreciates the power of global sports in connecting with an increasingly multicultural millennial audience and values our ability to provide the highest quality sports programming, wherever their viewers are.”

go90 users will be able to view all the global sports carried on ONE World Sports. This includes baseball from Japan, basketball from China, hockey from Europe and Russia, cricket from England and soccer from the UK, Europe and Asia.

go90 is accessible by downloading the app from the App Store or Google Play and delivers primetime shows, live music and sports, and now ONE World Sports content. This partnership makes sense for Verizon because they launched go90 to better serve millennials. So ONE World Sports’ live content being available in the go90 social app environment seems to be a good match.

Addtionally, ONE World Sports is gaining better exposure to a broader audience with Verizon’s go90 platform which brings together networks, distributors, creators, audiences, and brands.

The NBA recently announced a partnership with go90 as well where “[G]o90…will feature extensive NBA content including daily highlights, original content and access to live out-of-market games through NBA LEAGUE PASS. Additionally, all go90 users will have access to exclusive NBA-related content and will be able to Cut & Share select clips and highlights via text (SMS), Facebook and Twitter. The NBA and go90 will collaborate on bringing a number of original exclusive series to the go90 platform, offering unique perspectives and voices from around the NBA.”

After this deal ONE World Sports is now available on twenty-four major cable providers in the U.S.

“Bringing live sports to go90 continues to be a focus and key content differentiator,” said Terry Denson, Vice President of Content Acquisition and Strategy for Verizon. “It’s important to expand the programming on go90, especially when it brings the passion and diverse fan base that ONE World Sports does.”
