OneFairway, a golfing social network, recently released OneTrace, an iPhone application that records and traces golf club swings and ball flight paths.
Players capture video as normal. Then, on playback, users select the point of impact between the club and the ball. The OneTrace app estimates the ball’s flight path with a highlighted line. Users can manually adjust the tracer line to improve accuracy and change its color to improve visibility.
The outcome? A half-speed video of the player’s swing with a colorful line tracing the golf ball’s flight path.

An additional feature allows users to create images with a shadow tracer to see a holistic view of their swings and key body movements. It’s also possible to overlay images with highlighted ball flights to track a player’s swing and shot consistency.
Finally, with the sequence image function, players can compile five freeze frames side-by-side. This allows golfers to isolate and examine individual components of their swings.
At just $1.49 in the App Store, OneTrace is a tool that you can use for training, or to spice up your social media posts.
