Swimmer Katie Ledecky is a five-time Olympic gold medalist with Team USA and a nine-time world champion. She currently holds the world record in three events. She is also a student at Stanford and undefeated in the NCAA in the 100 free, 500 free, 1000 free, and the 1650 free. Now, thanks to the Pac-12 Networks’ streaming partnership with Twitter, her swimming in college will be broadcast to a larger audience.
On Friday, the Pac-12 Networks will be airing live on Twitter Stanford’s swimming and diving meet against UCLA to highlight the decorated freshman for the first time on a social media platform.
By airing the meet on Pac-12 Plus — the conference’s Twitter platform — it has the potential to reach a much larger audience than it would while also being streamed on Pac-12.com and Stanford’s website. The footage of the Olympian in action will be available to Twitter users worldwide.

Ledecky isn’t the only attraction to the event as Stanford is off to a 5-0 start this season, including a win over No. 4 Texas.
This broadcast is just the latest in a series of Pac-12 contests that have been shown on Twitter beginning in October since the partnership was announced in July. The agreement enables the Pac-12 to stream at least 150 Pac-12 events in the 2016-17 academic year.
“Twitter is the fastest way to find out what is happening in live sports,” Twitter chief financial officer Anthony Noto said at the time of the announcement. “Our partnership with the Pac-12 Networks will give sports fans a great way to view live sporting events along with the live Twitter conversation they are already accustomed to.”
