Philadelphia Flyers fans will now receive an alternative option for on-demand food and snacks, courtesy of local startup goPuff.
With its first major sports partnership, goPuff is now working with the Flyers so fans can choose from 3,000 different foods, snacks, beers and party items via the app or website to be delivered in 30 minutes or less. The goPuff app will feature a new custom Flyers category with specific team favorites. GoPuff, which operates in 15 U.S. markets, will also be included in social promotions with Flyers’ tweets for the rest of the regular season.

“With Flyers Gameday On-Demand we’re helping consumers eliminate the traditional beer run, by offering the most convenient way for Flyers fans to get snacks, beer, and other game day essentials without having to ever leave their couch,” Dan Folkman, goPuff’s Vice President of Business Development, said in a statement. “We’re proud to support our hometown hockey team by making sure fans tuning in at home won’t ever have to miss another second of the action.”
In this on-demand economy where sports fans and consumers expect not only what they want but when they want it, the partnership between goPuff and the Flyers is part of larger trend in 2017. Around sports, Fanatics and Uber partnered after the Chicago Cubs won the 2016 World Series, supplying fans with official Cubs championship t-shirts and hats through the Uber app. Similarly, the two companies partnered before the Los Angeles Rams home-opener last September to offer Rams merchandise and signed memorabilia through the UberEATS app.
