Pryme Vessyl Automatically Tracks And Displays Your Hydration Needs

Whether it’s after a long, strenuous and effective workout, coming home after a hot day in the sun or just running around doing errands, athletes and regular people need to keep themselves replenished with fluids. However, most people don’t know exactly how much they need to drink in order to become properly hydrated, or to maintain their hydration throughout the day. This is where Pryme Vessyl is trying to do the work for them.

“Eight cups of water per day has been the prevailing myth for as long as anyone can remember, yet the truth is, optimal hydration is about so much more than eight cups – each of us have unique needs that change day to day, and even throughout the day, depending on who we are and what we’re doing,” said Dr. Hanson Lenyoun, Pryme Vessyl’s Head of Health.

“The goal of Pryme Vessyl is to increase your awareness around your unique hydration needs to make sure you’re performing at your best when it matters most,” Lenyoun added.

On the outside, Pryme looks like a very sleek, high-tech water bottle, and in a sense, that’s exactly what it is. Its simplistic design goes along with its simple purpose, to let users know when they are properly hydrated, and when they need to drink more.

On the inside, the cup takes into account the user’s basic metrics of height, weight, age and sex, as well as sleep time, to come up with each user’s personalized hydration level. Every day, it tracks the amount of water consumed by the user, and gives a reading on how well the user is doing in terms of staying hydrated. When the blue light is lit on the outside of the glass, the user knows he or she is properly hydrated, and can then keep track of his or her levels through the Pryme app, where it shows how close the user is to being hydrated and motivates them to get to their “pryme”.

In addition to its own personal app, Pryme is compatible with all different types of fitness wearables, allowing the cup to “automatically gather your physical activity data and intelligently adjust your needs according to your activity level. Combining all of this information allows you to get an accurate picture of the volume of water that you need to consume to meet your specific needs, moment by moment,” said Lenyoun.

Pryme gathers and analyzes all of this data through its built-in sensors and hydration algorithm that can detect the amount of water each user has consumed, how much more they need to drink, and if a user is actually drinking the water or just pouring out his or her bottle.

Pryme appeals to the mass consumer because it is easy to use and doesn’t require the user to do anything different with their life. All they have to do is switch out their current water bottle or their millions of tiny plastic cups from the water bubbler with the Pryme Vessyl product. The user is now integrated into the hydration tracking system, while also being environmentally conscious.

“The key to fitting seamlessly into people’s lives is to integrate into habits they already have, rather than requiring them to create a new habit,” stated Lenyoun. “We’re simply replacing the cup you’ve been using with one that contains a lot more functionality. We wanted to design something that’s easy for people to adopt and use so they continue to reap the benefits over time.”

The cup comes with a mobile charging coaster as well, allowing the user to take their Pryme with them on the go, and never worry about having to find a plug to recharge the battery. Simply placing the cup on the coaster, like any respectable person would do on someone’s coffee table, allows the battery to refuel, and extends Pryme’s ease of use that makes it so popular to consumers.

One of the main reasons that people find it so hard to keep themselves hydrated is that it has never been something tracked by anything more than the human mind or a note in your phone. Since there are differing hydration needs for every user, this lack of tracking made it very difficult for users to actually be properly hydrated, whether they thought they were or not. Pryme took advantage of this market space, understanding that “while some of these metrics [that they measure] are static, others like activity are constantly changing, thus an individual’s needs are constantly being recalculated,” said Lenyoun.

Pryme provides updates to reflect what each user needs in that moment, and provides them with a path to meet those needs. All the user has to do is tilt the cup, and he or she will see “a dynamic line on the side of the cup that rises and falls depending on how well the user is meeting their unique needs.” This feature allows users to not have to constantly worry about checking their phone and the Pryme app to see how hydrated they are, as the cup provides real-time feedback with a simple two-second check that can be done anywhere the user is.

Pryme is relatively affordable, holding a price point of $99, around the average mark for most fitness gadgets. This value may seem a bit steep, but once the user realizes the general health benefits that Pryme provides, it becomes much more of a reasonable price.
