Review: RHYTHM Pulse Monitor

People strive for better ways stay fit and track their fitness level. Besides that, most want to enjoy their workout with music. Scosche recently designed a pulse monitor that gives users the ability do both. The RHYTHM Armband Pulse Monitor is a new workout gadget worn around the forearm that allows users to monitor their pulse, calories burned, work out type, distance traveled, the actual route taken, and manage music–all on a smartphone or tablet app.

Via Bluetooth, the armband pairs with all iOS devices (5.1 or higher) and Android devices to download the RYTHM app for free. After pairing, workouts are transmitted wirelessly from the armband to the app. The app comes in an easy to use interface allowing users to personalize their work out, set goals, and then share the results on social media accounts. The RYTHM Armband is a convenient and easy new way to take the guess-work out of a workout, and accurately monitor intensity levels for an overall more effective personal fitness program.

The armband also allows users to control the music on the device including play/pause, track and volume all with easy to use buttons. No more trying to change the track on music enabled phones or devices. It can also provide some motivational cues for reaching goals.

Thanks to AT&T, SportTechie was given the opportunity to use the RHYTHM armband and we noticed how easy it was to set up and monitor workout goals. The band alerts users with red blinking LED lights when not in the target heart rate to ensure users are getting the best out of their workout.

Unlike the conventional chest strap monitors, this monitor is lightweight and comfortable around the forearm. The lithium ion rechargeable battery allows for up to 6 hours of workout time so users can enjoy their workout. So feel the RHYTHM and grab the armband at any Apple or AT&T store for $99.95
