Scoutee is a world-first smart speed radar device that launched just over a month ago. The innovation will allow users to link the device with a smartphone and track pitching speeds, in an overall simplified manner. When the idea was launched, the goal was to reach $50,000 within a month – through a KickStarter campaign – to progress to the production phase of the device.

It has now been announced via a Scoutee press release that the company successfully reached their goal, raising $53,687.

The device itself can be held in the palm of a hand and is placed beyond the target of a pitcher. The data is then recorded and transmitted into the custom smartphone app that collates the data into distance over time. Ex-Slovenian national representative, Miha Uhan, who wanted to create a device that would be simple and affordable for all ages and skill-levels, founded the Slovenian company.

“We knew we had a great product that will help young athletes improve and expose their talent, but the initial reactions of baseball industry to Scoutee took us by surprise and were overwhelming! Many people from all levels of the baseball industry reached out, even several MLB teams! We were also contacted by professionals from many other sports, telling us how much they would need Scoutee for their work and trainings. We are convinced months to come are going to be very exciting for us,” said Uhan, according to Scoutee’s press release.

Scoutee’s first move will be to introduce the product to junior baseball players and their coaches, but have plans to expand to many other sports. The device is suitable for soccer, tennis, golf, American football, but may prove the most beneficial to cricketers. Cricket is very similar to baseball in the way that bowling (or pitching) speed is paramount to success.

Scoutee have said that now that their goal of $50,000 has been reached, people can look forward to getting their hands on a device as early as next April. After successfully reaching a pivotal stage in the process, Scoutee should only have good things to come.
