SeatGeek Acquires TopTix To Propel SeatGeek Open To Next Level After Raising $57 Million

SeatGeek has acquired Israeli ticketing software company TopTix for $56 million. The acquisition was financed by a new $57 million Series D investment round in SeatGeek, which continues to make moves to take aim at Ticketmaster.

TopTix has provided ticketing software to more than 500 different companies in 16 different countries and has served as SeatGeek’s technology partner for Sporting Kansas City, the company’s first primary ticketing client.

The partnership with TopTix will allow SeatGeek Open, SeatGeek’s primary ticketing platform, to expand. SeatGeek Open allows teams to directly sell tickets within other apps and websites.

SeatGeek Open has helped Sporting Kansas City to increase online ticket sales by 61 percent thus far this season compared to last season, according to the company. The team has also seen the amount of mobile purchasing be four times greater.

TopTix provides tickets for museums and theaters, and also sporting events — including the Royal Dutch Football Association and English soccer clubs.

“Our teams share a passion for innovation and a mission to build long-term partnerships,” Eli Dagan, a TopTix co-founder said in a statement. “I’m thrilled that together we will continue to build a product tailored to the needs of all our clients around the world.”
