Serena Williams and Stephen Curry, two of the most prominent athletes competing today, are known for their intensity and dazzling the crowd. So if they are pinned against each other in a game of ping pong, things are bound to get very competitive very quickly. That’s exactly what happens in Chase’s new QuickPay commercial.
Quickpay is designed to help users send and receive money quickly. After logging into the app, the person can choose an amount and send it to a friend to split the dinner check or pay back the person who bought the Lyft ride to the downtown bars. The friend or family member will get a notification that the money has arrived in his or her bank account in moments.
Anyone with a phone number or email address can use Chase’s Quickpay feature. By using QuickPay, friends won’t see the your bank account information and visa versa.

In the commercial, Curry, who signed an endorsement deal with JPMorgan Chase as part of its “Master” campaign last March, is brought to a green room to presumably shoot a commercial by a quiet production assistant. Williams, who has been partners with Chase since 2015, is on the phone when Curry walks in and eyes him and he picks up the ping pong racket and ball.
“Do you play,” Curry asks?
You don’t have to ask Williams twice. The 23-time Grand Slam Champion starts slamming the ball down, but in the process, knocks a few things off the wall.
When Williams sends a shot off the table and crashing into the lamp, Curry sends $150 to the panic-stricken production assistant who is standing outside the door. When Curry deflects a shot into the another decoration and breaks it, Williams sends the PA $250 to replace it at the touch of a button.
It’s probably a safe assumption that Williams won this game, but Chase gives Twitter users the option of voting by sending out a Tweet using #TeamStephen or #TeamSerena.
