Solos Smart Glasses Announce Partnership With CTS Coaching

Solos is partnering with Carmichael Training Systems, a coaching company aimed at professional and elite amateur cyclists, runners, and triathletes. CTS-coached athletes will be eligible to purchase Solos smart glasses at a discounted rate as part of the new partnership.

Electronics manufacturer Kopin Corporation, which owns the Solos wearable technology company, announced the news in a press release on Thursday. The latest generation of Solos augmented reality smart glasses projects a virtual screen display that allows athletes to access key metrics about their performances in real time. The small, translucent-display screen was designed to be viewable without disrupting a user’s attention while working out.

“Now with the integrated capability of having all the important real-time metrics and audio features in a heads-up solution, athletes can keep their eyes off their bike computer and focus on the road. This is game-changing technology that is going to have a large positive impact on athletes’ training and safety,” said Chris Carmichael, CTS Founder and CEO, in the press release.

CTS-registered athletes will also be able to import workouts from the TrainingPeaks platform into the glasses, as part of a partnership that Solos announced with TrainingPeaks in November. Scott Fliegelman, the senior director of marketing and sales at Solos, will also attend select CTS camps to showcase the smart glasses.

Teaming with CTS may give Solos an opportunity to expand its use within the elite amateur community. CTS coaches use TrainingPeaks to monitor and coordinate athlete workouts, and Solos has an existing integration with that platform.
