Today Sony introduced the SSE-TN1W Smart Tennis Sensor to help tennis players track their performance accurately and easily. By connecting it to a smart-device, users can analyze, review, share, and compare their information against others.
This sensor, which was created through a partnership between Sony and tennis manufacturers Wilson, HEAD, Prince, and YONEX, contains sensing technologies and newly developed vibration analysis mechanics fit for the sleek and performance-driven rackets known to next generation players. All players need to do to use it is to keep it charged and affix the attachment ring onto the grip end of the racket and place the sensor onto the attachment ring.
As soon as it is turned on, in-depth statistics like number of shots, ball impact spot, swing type, swing speed, ball spin, and ball spin will be recorded. With the ability to last three hours on a single charge, users will be able to record full matches without having to recharge it. Once done playing, simply connect the sensor to a phone or tablet and access the data on the Smart Tennis Sensor app.
The app also allows users to record rallies, and display recorded videos, and shot metrics simultaneously giving users the ability to pick apart data on specific parts of their game. Players can also use the app to look through their current and historic data, set goals for the future, and even share accomplishments by posting them on to social media services. The slow-motion playback capability also allows players to create motionshot sequence photos and pick apart their movements and have access to all of the details on where they can improve.
