Sportradar Rolls Out New Data Solution For NFL And League Properties

When Sportradar partnered with the NFL last April as the leagues exclusive statistics distribution partner, it was tasked with creating a research intelligence tool that could be leveraged by all 32 franchises and other NFL properties, including NFL.com writers and NFL Network.

This week, the global sports data service provider swapped out the NFL’s standard system that it had used for nearly 20 years and formally rolled out its new solution called radar360, which is geared toward coaches, scouts, front office personnel and public relations teams.

“radar360 is a valuable resource for every NFL team’s media relations, football operations, coaching, and scouting groups as well as our League production teams,” Vishal Shah, Senior Vice President of Media Strategy and Business Development at the NFL in a statement. “This innovative tool allows users to access NFL data through an intuitive interface and easily customizable queries.”

The web-based application and query engine allows football operations staffers and analytics-focused individuals to create customized reports using various filters. Coaches and scouts can then take the information and analyze it for different trends across game situations. On the media side, public relations teams can utilize the data to support game notes, one-sheeters and media guides while those in production can incorporate data sets into studio programming or use them to drive specific on-air segments.

“In radar360, the NFL has a resource to dive deep into both in-game and historical data sets,” Dave Abbott, Head of Products and Development at Sportradar, said in a statement. “Users can leverage expansive filtering and grouping functionality to create customized data views to analyze different scenarios and situations.

“This is the first release of many. Our dev team is poised to introduce an innovative suite of products that unlock the power of NFL data for the 2016 season.”
