Anyone who was involved in a youth sports league learned that it could get pretty complicated keeping every player and parent constantly updated. Whether there was a change in time or location, weather delays or other issues, getting the word out to everyone quickly never went smoothly. So with hopes to make being constantly updated a simple feat, Time Inc. is launching an app called Sports Illustrated Play (SI Play).
Sports Illustrated Play is a free app that allows youth sports teams to host their communication and organization all in one shared digital location. Some of the features include creating schedules, posting rosters and keeping track of statistics. The app lets the coaches and parents stay in contact with one another and share moments during games or practices.

“As a president of a very large Babe Ruth League, I cannot tell you how hard it is to find the right platform to manage everything from registration, scheduling, team communication, financial records or even something just as simple as database management. When we decided to partner with SI Play we were hoping they would be able to provide us with our missing piece to the puzzle… and I am happy to say the missing piece has been found! Not only have they already impressed us with their product and support, they are now rolling out even more exciting functions with their app, website and beefing up their already ‘top-notch’ registration system,” said President of Oviedo Babe Ruth Tony Galarza.
The National Softball Association (NSA) and Baseball Players Association (BPA) have already become official partners in which SI Play will support both organizations.
SI Play already has a community of ten million players and after reading the testimonials from coaches and league board members on the SI Play website, it is clear that many agree the app has helped their overall experiences and made teams and leagues more organized. They offer a free 30-day trial for those who wish to see if their team can benefit from what the app offers.
