FuboTV, a soccer video streaming service, has just received investments from corporate sponsors Fox and Sky Sports. This service offers programming to users at a $10 a month fee. Since starting up just a year ago, the company has now raised $21 million through multiple investors, including LionTree Partners and former NBA commissioner David Stern.

With 40,000 subscribers, FuboTV hopes to expand their audience with this new investment. FuboTV allows users to watch live and taped games that come from TV networks such as Univision and beIN Sports. Subscribers have access to a variety of games from the La Liga Spanish league or the MLS in the U.S. As of now, it does not have access to U.K.’s Premier League or Europe’s UEFA Champions League.
“The support from Europe’s leading entertainment company strongly positions FuboTV to meet the demands of the ever evolving sports rights ecosystem,” said FuboTV co-founder and chief executive David Gandler. “The investment from Sky demonstrates our potential to become leaders among linear over-the-top services.”
With the help from Fox and Sky, it now looks to develop more streams for users such as the big league games from U.K and Europe. It will be exciting to see the growth of FuboTV as the expansion of sports networks, club channels, and football news within the company is seemingly inevitable.
