Yesterday Major League Baseball launched their own social network called MLB Fans. Today, they continued to add to their new digital platforms by launching MLB Clubhouse, a league wide custom GIF and sticker baseball-themed keyboard extension app that features fans’ favorite MLB teams, players, ballparks and more.
Of course, MLB Clubhouse was developed by MLBAM and coincides right with the start of the playoffs. Essentially this app lets fans expand and customize their personal keyboards with baseball-themed GIFs and stickers based on their favorite teams.
MLB Clubhouse gives fans hundreds of original baseball-themed stickers, such as official logos, current and legendary player emojis, team mascots, ballpark food and baseball equipment. And perhaps best of all it comes with animated GIFs built by MLB.com for visually personifying their emotions and communications with baseball on their phones.
The launch of MLB Clubhouse makes a lot of sense considering it comes days after the MLB rolled out their own dedicated social network. After all, what engages users of social networks more than emojis and GIFs?
The free app is exclusively available now in the Apple App Store on iPhone and iPod touch.
