The Phoenix Suns are making attending a game a little more enticing these days. They recently became the first NBA team to combine game tickets with mobile data. Through a partnership with Verizon the Suns are providing free mobile data on top of your plan when you buy game tickets. Don’t have Verizon? Look at it as a chance to hook up a friend because Verizon will allow you to gift the data.

The deal rewards up to 11 GB a month and the reward structure is pretty straightforward. Lower bowl tickets will be worth 1, 3 and 6 GBs, while upper bowl will be worth 0.5, 1.5 and 3 for one, two, and three games respectively.
Verizon is offering this deal on a trial basis with the Suns in hopes of luring customers on the fence about cell phone carriers. This partnership could be beneficial for both the Suns and Verizon as they seek to grow their millennial customer bases. Millennials are obviously heavy users of smartphones and cell phone data. Conversely the Suns would like to get some younger fans in for a game and hopefully hook them on the team and turn them into repeat visitors for a long time to come.

The promotion runs until the end of the season.
The Suns continue to show themselves to be a technologically savvy organization. In 2012 they became the first team to incorporate tablets on the bench. The Suns have also coupled this promotion with the announcement of new upgrades to their team app and additional organic integration of Verizon at their arena.
