The Arc’s stabilized video is maintained through a litany of innovations. There are four sensors on the camera that track the elevation, speed, rotation, and magnetic north. The Arc also features a motorized gimbal to help the footage stay level with the horizon line. All of this creates what Revl calls their Hybrid Stabilization Technology, combining electronic image stabilization with motorized horizontal stabilization, to provide Arc’s uniquely clear and stable video.

The Arc has the ability to shoot 4K video at 30 frames per second, and can live-stream video at 1080p and is waterproof and shockproof up to three meters, without a case of any kind and the battery lasts for 1.5 hours.

The video that Revl Arc shoots is never shaky. Which allows for users to film action shots that look almost cinema quality. Since the footage always stays level with the horizon line, this camera can be used to film sports of every kind, like never before.

Revl Arc is very user friendly as well. All of the user’s raw footage is sent to the Revl Arc app, where it can then be automatically edited. The app, for iOS and Apple Watch, edits footage using Revl’s AI assist technology. The technology creates highlight videos by picking out the most exciting moments from the raw footage, as it is able to take into account the speed, g-force, rotation, and acceleration of the camera.quD3odc

The self-editing videos are then able to be instantly and easily shared on a multitude of social media platforms. For users that want to compete against their friends, or simply want to let everyone know they are pushing the limits, Arc’s heads up display feature overlays the video with a users speed, jump height, rotation, airtime, and more.

The Revl Arc has already surpassed their goal on Indiegogo by a large margin. And if everything goes according to plan, production will start in July, with shipments beginning in December. The Arc will retail for roughly $499, but those who support the Indiegogo campaign can buy one for $399.

As the sports world clamors for more 4K video, and action cameras become more popular than ever, Revl Arc could prove to be a game-changer. With its completely stabilized video, even during the most gravity defying acts, this camera is great for the action sports community. However, with its high quality video and hybrid stabilization features it has the potential to bring sports fans everywhere breathtaking action like never before.
