When deciding one’s mode of transportation, there are often two overall options that come into play. There are the traditional natural modes of transportation such as walking or biking, and then there are the mass transit motorized options such as a metro, car and bus.
But one interesting new Kickstarter product is hoping to blend the two categories.
The team at GeoOrbital Wheel wants anyone to have the option to go natural or motorized in about 60 seconds.

They have a patent pending GeoOrbital wheel that is hoping to replace a standard bicycle front wheel that turns a bike into a powerful electric bicycle.
This incredibly successful Kickstarter project, enables one to use their bike to go up to 20 miles per hour for 20-50 miles; all with quick installation and compatibility. The non-traditional wheel takes under 60 seconds and doesn’t require any tools to install. Best of all, everything needed to power a bike is included in the wheel.
The GeoOrbital wheel has been tested and is compatible with nearly every bicycle. They have done tests on hundreds of bikes of all different styles from all different eras. The wheel comes in two different sizes that fit 95% of all adult sized bicycles. Bikes that are 26in, or 700c (also compatible with 28in and 29in) front wheel and uses rim brakes, fit with the GeoOrbital wheel.
The only tool aboard your bike that isn’t a part of the wheel itself is a thumb activated throttle that clips to the bike’s handlebar. It includes a Panasonic 36V removable Lithium-Ion battery that has pedal assisted range of up to 50 miles per-battery and a 30 mile range for a 26-inch wheel.
The bike has been a big success on KickStarter, raising $300,000 already with consumers still having 42 days to pledge a contribution.
As the world continues to look for greener solutions to transportation and commuting issues, the GeoOrbital wheel could be the start of a new trend of natural plus electric options on the days you might need a little extra rest but still want to bike to work.
