New England Patriots fans around the world will be tuning into the team’s divisional playoff game against the Tennessee Titans this Saturday. In the lead-up to that important matchup, those fans can get an intimate look into Tom Brady’s life on and off the field.
Brady is the featured subject in a docu-series called “Tom vs Time,” soon to debut on the Facebook Watch video platform, it was announced Tuesday. The series is being filmed by Gotham Chopra and produced by production company Dirty Robber and Chopra’s platform Religion of Sports, which he founded with Brady, Michael Strahan and Dirty Robber.
The series focuses around Brady turning 40 years old and managing his career as a quarterback simultaneously with his family and personal lives. Brady is currently playing in his 18th NFL season and driving hard toward another Super Bowl — a championship this year would be his sixth.
Brady has used Facebook actively with his fanbase, posting pictures and sharing aspects of the TB12 brand he has cultivated.
“I have thought for many years how cool it would be to show fans other aspects of my life and interact with them in a different way,” Brady said in a statement. “I have been a part of features in magazines, newspapers and TV shows, but I’ve never tried anything like what we decided to do with this docu-series. I hope fans enjoy seeing what we captured.”

Gisele Bündchen, Brady’s wife, has been an avid supporter of his football career and features prominently at Patriots games. It would seem she has embraced “Tom vs Time” and the seemingly unprecedented look into Brady’s personal and professional life, with some tongue-in-cheek humor about what he really loves the most.
A New York Times article published Tuesday highlights some of the moments on the docu-series fans will see in the videos once they are released on Facebook Watch, likely later this month. Fans can see Brady driving and singing along with his children; on family trips to China and Costa Rica; and the quarterback spending time with Bündchen.
But on the whole, the series looks at Brady’s life through the lens of football. Chopra’s Religion of Sport focuses on the connection between people and sports and “why sports matter,” according to the announcement, and Brady’s almost singular devotion to football and winning revolves around that theme.
The Times article noted that “Tom vs Time” could be released during the latter stages of the playoffs (but also reported that Facebook has not disclosed a specific release date). If the Patriots advance to the AFC Championship Game and Super Bowl, fans watching the series will see a number of sides of Brady, but those same fans, while watching the games, will probably see only the side of Brady that cares singularly about football.
