London, UK (December 15, 2016) – HYPE Foundation, a global platform for connecting and investing in sports innovation today announces the launch of its “Top 50 most innovative sports startups” program for 2017. The program provide sports startups with direct access to over 100 Investors and VC’s, Over 1450 Top Sports brand directors, clubs and federations globally and massive global exposure.

As technology is changing the world of sports forever, HYPE believe it is time to assist the top sports brands connect with new startups that are poised to fuel this change.

In the light of this realization, HYPE Foundation is launching the “Top 50 – 2017, its flag program, that serves as a fast lane program for sports technology startups where it addresses in the highest level, the main challenges typical startups face, such as achieving targeted exposure, gaining investor attention and winning over users and brands.

The Say Yeah team won the London competition in 2016 to book their trip to Hype’s Rio event.


Last year, HYPE Foundation teamed up with Microsoft, Google and Sky Sports, as well as other leading global tech and sports brands, federations, investors and academic institutions and created a global platform which accelerated investments in sports innovation.  HYPE has been running accelerator programs and hackathons around the world with over 11,000 members.

HYPE’s key initiative in 2016 was the TOP 50 most innovative sports tech startup program that provides startups with access to leading investors, sports brands, events and global exposure. This was done alongside 8 “Global Innovation in Sports regional competitions”,  that took place in the world’s’ main tech capitals (London, San Francisco, Tel Aviv, etc.)

These competitions culminated in a final event in Rio, alongside the Olympic Games. In total, the Hype competitions saw 1500 startup applicants from all around the world.
