TUNE System Connects with Smart Watches, Features a Platform for Coaches and is First Wearable to Use ColorADD Technology for the Color-blind

Austin, TX & Porto, Portugal – JUNE 20, 2016 – Kinematix, a Portugal-based technology start-up, announced today that TUNE, the intelligent wearable for runners that provides better information to help them run smarter, is now available for pre-order and will ship in North America and the European Union in the Fall of this year.

TUNE is a simple, easy to use wearable for runners that goes beyond measuring basic GPS stats such as pace or speed, but also measures each foot’s behaviour on the ground: ground-contact time, heel-contact time and symmetry. Coaches often observe and measure these parameters using video cameras, but can only measure a few steps. Now for the first time, with TUNE, runners and coaches can capture data about these relevant form parameters from every single step of a full run for both feet at the same time.  And because the sensors are in-shoe, the data provided is the the most complete assessment possible of a runner’s technique.  The data collected from the insoles is automatically synced with the TUNE app on a smart phone or smart watch, is combined with each runner’s personal profile and the evolving form patterns detected during runs, and then all this information is processed in the cloud to build and deliver personalized exercise plans.

“Wearables are everywhere, but TUNE is one of the only wearables that extracts meaningful data from feet and presents it in an easy to understand format that runners can immediately use and incorporate into their daily routines,” said Paulo Ferreira dos Santos, CEO of Kinematix, maker of TUNE.  “What good is data if you can’t use it to help you? TUNE provides advice, not just data. It turns your running data into personalized exercise plans that helps runners improve their form and fitness, which are the foundations to run better and avoid injury.  No two runners are alike, so their exercise plans shouldn’t be either.”

Coaching Platform

TUNE will also include a platform for coaches to monitor their athlete’s running performance any time, anywhere, even when they are not physically together.  One of the biggest gaps of information for coaches exist in the times when they are not physically with their athletes and cannot observe their running technique.  With TUNE, runners can upload their data automatically to the TUNE coach platform so that their coach can log into the platform at any time and see how the runner performed on any run and provide feedback directly to the runner.

“TUNE is THE game changer for consumers as well as coaches, and the profile of my athlete/client is now complete with TUNE,” said Lisa Colvin, PhD and award-winning triathlete and coach.  “TUNE has closed the data ‘hole’ I have had for 25 years, as now I will have valid and reliable data that I can utilize.  More importantly, its application is in the real world, not on my research treadmill.  As far as I’m concerned, TUNE is the gold standard wearable digital device that will change the face of the running industry.”

TUNE is also one of the first wearables to incorporate the ColorADD color identification system, which allows those who are color-blind to understand and interpret the color-coded charts and reports in the TUNE app.  ColorADD is a unique, universal, inclusive and non-discriminative language that enables the colorblind to identify colors, with a wide infinite spectrum of use on companies/entities whenever color is a factor of identification, orientation or choice. It is estimated that 350 million people (about 10% of the male population worldwide) are Colorblind.

Runners can pre-order TUNE for $200 USD, €200, which includes an extra pair of sensor-equipped insoles that they can use to share their TUNE devices with a friend or relative.  To pre-order TUNE, visit www.kinematix.pt.
