VERT is an athlete wearable tech company that we have covered regularly in the past for their jump monitor that calculates an athlete’s vertical jump height and frequency.
Today at CES VERT made more sports tech news with the launch of its second product, VERT2. This new jump monitoring device will provide intensity, exertion and stress analytics in addition to VERT’s original jump height and count measurements.
The VERT technology is currently used by the USA Volleyball National teams along with multiple NCAA volleyball and basketball programs, which recently made history as the first wearable tech used in the 2015 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship games.

Additionally, the launch of VERT2 comes with a new partnership with Zensah, a compression apparel brand, that helps athletes train and play safer. Both VERT2 and Zensah apparel, integrated with VERT technology, will be debuting in the Fitness & Technology area at CES.
Just like the first VERT device, VERT2 is a non-invasive and discrete inertial measurement unit (IMU). Athlete’s don’t even notice it when wearing.
VERT2 brings a huge addition to VERT’s overall offerings by now reporting numerous athletic measurements, including total Gs, high/low intensity count, surges per minute, surge count, high acceleration (Gs) and average peak acceleration (Gs). These measurements are sent to the VERT software architecture in real-time, which can then be monitored by coaches and athletes during or after use. This coincides with one of the biggest trends we are seeing in sports technology: the use of data gathering for injury prevention.

By combining VERT and Zensah’s form fitting compression apparel, athletes who want to know all about their jumping will be able to do so without interrupting their play. A crucial element for capturing accurate data.
Zensah’s products include compression leg sleeves, socks, knee sleeve, tops, sports bras and more. Each product incorporates graduated compression for faster recovery, 3D ribbing for targeted muscle support, and a fabric that features silver ions and moisture wicking control.
