Volt Athletics Inc. has announced their closing of a funding round of over $1M. To date, Volt has now raised over $2M from different investors. Volt specializes in sport performance training technology. The company aims to deliver individualized conditioning programs to athletes via smartphone or tablet. Volt hopes that this new round of funding will help advance new technologies as well as develop strategic relationships for Volt to expand into new markets.
Volt Athletics currently provides sport-specific strength and conditioning programs to over 1,300 teams and 30,000 high school, college, and professional athletes. Based off of the user’s long- and short-term goals, the training program offers a unique training calendar with a customized workout for the day including how many reps, sets, weight, movement, and training block the athlete should do. The technology is accessible anywhere through the cloud-based technology. Athletes can stay engaged with their team’s training even if they are not physically training with them.

Volt also recently introduced the V2 Platform that features groundbreaking technology. With its aim to put the user at the front and center of the program, Volt reorganized the platform and made it more user-friendly. Volt also transformed the workouts into “phases” and “blocks” to emphasize periodization. The technology can also accommodate coaches who can swap movements in and out of any training program in case a user has an injury or a preferred movement.
Volt was founded by Dan Giuliani and Trevor Watkins in 2011 and launched to the public in 2013. With a team of certified strength coaches, engineers, and athletes, Volt Athletics is attempting to make elite-level training accessible to the every day athlete.
“Volt levels the playing field for athletes and teams that have been previously unable to afford access to this level of training,” said Giuliani, a former private strength coach. “The results are healthier, stronger, faster, and more confident student-athletes everywhere.”
