Earlier this week, the Atlanta based company announced the integration of their TICKR X Workout Tracker and the 7 Minute Workout App with the Apple Watch. First published in the American College of Sports Medicine Journal, the 7 Minute Workout App consists of 12 exercises that uses only a wall and a chair, all of which are 30 seconds long with a 10 second interval in between.
The TICKR X syncs with the app via Bluetooth and instructs the user on counting the reps and timing the effort for each exercise. Users can also integrate certain information that the 7 Minute Workout App generates, such as calories burned and intensity of workout, into Apple’s HealthKit on their iPhone.
CEO of Wahoo Fitness, Chip Hawkins said of the news, “Wahoo Fitness was the first company to bring heart rate training to the iPhone with our entire line of sensors. We are excited to continue bridging the gap between iOS devices and fitness.” Hawkins also acknowledged the fact that more and more people are using their phones and watches to track fitness date and went on to say that they are, “focused on continuing to research and design products and apps that promote a happy and healthy lifestyle.”
For those interested, the 7 Minute Workout App is available at the App Store and those who want to purchase the TICKR X Workout Tracker can do so for $99.99 at the Wahoo Fitness website.
